When I wrote a story about Graham Pierce 12 or 15 years or so ago, I asked him what had become of the Austin-Healey 100S he had once bought off Ross Jensen and subsequently raced throughout New Zealand with a great deal of success.
Graham looked at me, looked out the window of his Mount Maunganui home at the sparkling Pacific: “You know, I’m buggered if I know. I can’t even remember who I sold it to!”
I’d asked, because the 100S was an incredibly rare, highly-regarded and valuable car. I felt I should have known where it had got to — but I didn’t.
